Nasi Dagang Pantai Timur Recipe

Nasi Dagang is the most famous dishes in Terengganu as it has its own unique taste. The creamy taste of the Nasi, the tenderness of the tuna fish (ikan tongkol) and the acar *optional* will make people craving for this dishes EVERYDAYYYY.

I really love this dish because it is rich in taste and it is my hometown traditional dish. If I go back to Terengganu, I will absolutely eat Nasi Dagang so that I will not craving for it. I prefer to eat Nasi Dagang made in Terengganu rather than in other places.

INGREDIENTS (RICE) :

5 cups of Siam Wangi rice + 3 cups of sticky rice 
2 coconuts ( for 2 bowl coconuts milk and 1 bowl coconut water )
3/4 fenugreek
1 inch ginger 
1 tablespoon coarse salt (average level) - mixed into coconut milk

STEPS :

1) Rice cleaned and soaked with water for a while before steaming. Put water into the steamer until
    boiled.

2) Add rice into the steamer and steamed until half cooked ( until you see the steam coming out from     the steamer approximately 20-30 mins)

3) When it's half cooked , put it into a big bowl and pour the coconut water and the coconut milk 
     gradually and stir well.
4) Put the rice back into the steamer together with two pandan leaves and cook until it was full
    cooked. 



5) When it was cooked put the rice into a big bowl with fenugreek, ginger, red onion, and pour the
     coconut milk gradually and stir well.


6)  Lastly, flaten and packs the rice. When it was ready to be eat, start to dip the rice from the edges

INGREDIENTS (GULAI IKAN TONGKOL) :
1 ikan tongkol hitam ( about 1 kg )
1 bowl of coconut milk 
1 pack of nasi dagang curry spices (mixed with a little water)
1 ladle of chili paste (can be added if you love it spicy)
2 red onions and 4 hint of garlic
2 tamarinds
10 chilies
salt
STEPS :
1) Put in some oil and heat it.
2) Put in the chili paste and stir
3) Then, put in the blended red onions and garlics
4) Put in the nasi dagang curry spices
5) Put in the ikan tongkol hitam 
6) Then, put in the coconut milk and then tamarinds
7) Lastly, put the chilies in and wait until it was boiled and fully cooked.
